Drugs

Drugs are a common part of modern society. It seems that the attitude towards drugs has become more relaxed over time.
Media reports and official publications have frequently portrayed drug takers as lacking self esteem, unable to resist peer pressure, seeking oblivion, rejecting traditional norms, anti social and willing to violate laws.
I think part of the problem is that many celebrities glamourise illegal substances. Therfore the chances of young people trying illegal substances is high, and likely to increase.

I kinda agree with this statement, the media in glamourising the use of drugs from celebrities actually make it seem ok to use drugs to young teenagers. One thing that never was mentioned in the lecture was the effects drugs has on a community or society.
